Should I get the Covid-19 Vaccine?

Consensus Statement from SOGC:

Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should be offered vaccination at anytime if they are eligible and no contraindications exist. This decision is based the women’s personal values and an understanding that the risk of infection and/or morbidity from COVID-19 outweighs the theorized and undescribed risk of being vaccinated during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Women should not be precluded from vaccination based on pregnancy status or breastfeeding.

RSV immunization

Again this respiratory virus season we are recommending that infants born during RSV season (typically from October-Apri), receive a single dose of Beyfortus 🅡 (nirsevimab) either at the hospital where they are born, (prior to discharge home), or from our office if not done at the hospital. This is a monoclonal antibody (that acts as a passive immunizing agent-ie antibodies which act immediately), allowing the immune system to recognize the RSV virus and help to fight the infection, should your infant become exposed. Only 1 dose is required and typically lasts 6 months.
