Covid-19 Vaccine

We are recommend all the available vaccinations to our patients at this time. There are screening questions to help identify the very few patients who will need additional counseling

Vaccination in Pregnancy

Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should be offered vaccination at anytime if they are eligible and no contraindications exist. This decision is based the women’s personal values and an understanding that the risk of infection and/or morbidity from COVID-19 outweighs the theorized and undescribed risk of being vaccinated during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Women should not be precluded from vaccination based on pregnancy status or breastfeeding.

I had symptoms, but now I feel better…

Can I get a doctors’ note?

Answer: You do not need one

On behalf of Ontario’s doctors, the Ontario Medical Association’s position is that doctors’ notes for clearance to return to work, recreational activities, school or child care are not an appropriate use of primary care resources, especially while COVID-19 causes unprecedented strain on the health-care system. Requiring doctors’ notes may also increase risk of exposure for patients. The Ontario Ministry of Health also recommends against requiring doctors’ notes to clear students and staff to return to school.

Instead, we recommend that individuals and/or parents complete a COVID-19 Self-Attestation Form to assess whether it is safe and/or prudent for their child to return to school, child care, or recreational activities according to COVID-19 clearance guidance from the Ontario Ministry of Health
